Last night only one game was played in the NHL with that last active day before the All-Star break. The number one Detroit Red Wings played the twenty-sixth ranked Montreal Canadians. In the first period of the game Rene Bourque, Alexei Emelin, David Desharnais, and Tomas Plekanec all scored for the Canadians. In the second period Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais scored for Montreal to make the score going into the third period six to zero. In the last period of the game Detroit scored twice both goals by Jiri Hudler to make the score six, two. With around two minutes left in the game the Canadians top pointed getter, Erik Cole, scored to make the final score seven, two Montreal.
