Last night four games were played in the NHL the Montreal Canadian played the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Washington Capitals played the Carolina Hurricanes, the Florida Panthers played the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Tampa Bay Lightning played the Dallas Stars. The Montreal, Pittsburgh game was a high scoring game through sixty minutes. The score was tied four, four at the end of regulation. The game went on to overtime and then a shootout. In the shootout only one person scored and the rest were either off target or saved by Marc-Andre Fluery or Peter Bugaj. Evgeni Malkin scored to lead the Penguins to a win. In the Washington, Carolina game in every period the Canes scored and the Caps never answered. The game ended three, zero Carolina. Cam Ward got a shutout and Jussi Jokinen, (scored two) and Jiri Tlusty scored. The Florida and Chicago played in Chicago. Jonathon Toews, Duncan Keith, and Patrick Kane scored for the Blackhawks. Jason Garrison scored in the third period for the Panthers. The game ended three, one Chicago. The Lightning and the Stars faced off in what ended in a score of two, one Dallas. Teddy Purcell scored both of the Stars goals, and Tom Wandell scored for the Lightning.
