On a Monday night in the National Hockey League six games were played. The Nashville Predators played the New York Islanders, Colorado played Phoenix played, the Jets played the Senators, the Boston Bruins played the Florida Panthers, the Sabers played the Red Wings, and Dallas played St. Louis. The Nashville, New York game was pretty one sided with the Predators beating the Islanders three to one. The Phoenix Coyotes blew out the Colorado Avalanche in a six, one victory. Winnipeg beat Ottawa in a two, one win. Chris Mason got a shutout, stopping all of Ottawa's shots. The only game of the night to go into extra time was the Boston, Florida game that advanced to a shootout after a two, two tie in the first twenty minutes. Overtime went scoreless. In the shootout Boston prevailed for the win. Detroit blew Buffalo out of the park in a six, zero win for the win. Jimmy Howard got the shutout. The Dallas, St. Louis game went scoreless for the first forty minutes. In the third period the Blues scored. That proved to be all St. Louis needed. The blues won in a one, zero score at the end of the game.
