February 5, 2012

Last night only eight teams played in the NHL, the Boston Bruins played the Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh played New Jersey, the Flyers played the Rangers, and the Winnipeg Jets played the Montreal Canadians. The Boston, Washington game was a physical and high scoring affair. The Bruins came out on top, beating the Caps four to one. Tim Thomas the Bruins goalie came up big stopping thirty-five out of thirty-six shots on goal. Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Tyler Seguin, and Rich Peverley scored for the Bruins. Marcus Johansson scored the only goal for the Capitals. New Jersey beat the Penguins in a five, two victory.  Ilya Kovalchuk, Anton Volchenkov, Dainius Zubrus, Zack Parise, and David Clarkson scored for the Devils, while only Matt Niskanen  , and Evgeni Malkin scored for the Pens. The Rangers beat the Flyers with an identical score to the one of the Penguins, Devils game. Artem Anisimov, Marian Gaborik, Michael Del Zotto, Brandon Dubinsky, and Ruslan Fedotenko scord for the Rangers. Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn scored the two goals for the Flyers. Like any good rivalry game there was twenty penalties handed out in the game, and four fights, (two in the first period). Montreal took home a victory against the Jets beating them three to nothing. Max Pacioretty, Alexi Emelin, and Tomas Plekanec scored for the Canadians. Carey Price had a 1.000 save percentage, letting in no goals winning the game for Montreal.
